Dodgers Vs. Nationals Highlights: Chris Taylor Sparks Rally, Yasmani Grandal Extends Hitting Streak, And More

Through the first five innings of Sunday’s game against the Washington Nationals, the Los Angeles Dodgers mustered just one hit off Jeremy Hellickson. But in the end, the Dodgers rallied for a 4-3 victory and series win.

Before their bats came alive, Corey Seager’s one-out double in the bottom of the first inning was the team’s only hit. It was followed by Hellickson retiring 14 in a row, which was snapped by a Chris Taylor double with one out in the sixth inning.

Hellickson then walked Seager on four pitches, and Yasmani Grandal followed with a two-run double down the right-field line. The hit was Grandal’s first and only of the night, and it extended his career-best hitting streak to 11 games.

Sammy Solis entered as part of a double switch but promptly allowed a game-tying double to Cody Bellinger that came 111 mph off his bat. Bellinger’s drive hit off the wall in center field and required a sleight of hand head-first slide into second base.

With the game still tied in the seventh inning, Trevor Gott hitting Austin Barnes with a pitch sparked another rally for the Dodgers. Barnes went first to third base on Taylor’s single, and scored on Seager’s sacrifice fly.

Josh Fields, Tony Cingrani, Pedro Baez and Kenley Jansen combined for three scoreless innings to finish out the game and get the Dodgers to .500 on the season. The win was their first this year in a game they did not score first.
