Peso Pluma threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium before Wednesday’s game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Julio Urías, who was one of the first members of the Dodgers clubhouse to begin listening to the Mexican rapper, caught the first pitch. Urías also guided him around the dugout and bowels of Dodger Stadium.

The 24-year-old, affectionately known as ‘Doble P’ has burst onto the scene this year, setting multiple records with the release of his album, “Génesis.” Peso Pluma recently became the first Mexican artist to hit No. 1 on the Spotify Global Top Songs chart.

He also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, and eight of his songs landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Droves of Dodgers fans cheered while Peso Pluma was on the field warming up and after he announced Vin Scully’s traditional saying.

Shelby Miller connects with Peso Pluma

One of the key connectors between Peso Pluma and the Dodgers is Shelby Miller. The right-hander is using “Ella Baila Sola” as his entrance song this season, after some urging from Urías, Brusdar Graterol and other teammates.

“Graterol and Julio and bunch of the Latin guys call me Peso Pluma,” Miller recently explained to DodgerBlue.com in an exclusive interview.

“So I ended up choosing that as a walk-out song and knew it would probably be a hit with the crowd. I think it’s a great song. I don’t know exactly what it’s saying, I think it’s something about a girl dancing alone, but I like the vibe of it. I like the flow.”

Unfortunately for Miller, he could only take part in the visit from afar as he spoke with Peso Pluma via Face Time due to being in Arizona for the recovery process from a neck injury.

Jason Heyward has also started using Peso Pluma for his walk-up song, and was among the Dodgers to take a photo with him in the clubhouse.
