The Los Angeles Dodgers outfield situation has involved moving pieces this season, with injuries to Andre Ethier, Joc Pederson and Andrew Toles creating opportunities for multiple players. Kiké Hernandez is among those to take advantage, while also playing infield.
Hernandez started at shortstop in Tuesday’s win over the St. Louis Cardinals. His RBI infield single tied the game in the third inning and also resulted in the Dodgers taking the lead on Paul DeJong’s throwing error.
Prior to the series opener at Busch Stadium, Hernandez made an appearance on MLB Network’s “Intentional Talk.”
Hernandez discussed his MLB debut, a month-long joke played on his former Triple-A manager, making arrangements for a more visually appealing interview with Kelli Tennant of Spectrum SportsNet LA, and more.

After getting off to a slow start this season, Hernandez enjoyed a successful month of May. Through 46 games this year he’s already collected 18 RBI, matching the total he finished with in 109 games last season.
What’s more, Hernandez’s .524 slugging percentage is on pace to break his career-high mark of .490, set in 2015 with the Dodgers. Of his 26 hits this season, 19 have gone for extra bases.
