Dodgers Video: Justin Turner, Yasmani Grandal Hit Home Runs In Win Against Padres

The Los Angeles Dodgers were held without a baserunner for three innings on Sunday before managing to break through against Luis Perdomo and the San Diego Padres. In the end, the Dodgers secured their 36th comeback win this season and extended their streak of not losing a series.

Perdomo lost his perfect game on the first pitch of the bottom of the fourth inning as it plunked Chris Taylor in the ribs. Perdomo’s no-hitter was wiped out three pitches later as Corey Seager lined a base hit into center field.

Justin Turner then went opposite field for a go-ahead, three-run home run. In the blink of an eye, the Dodgers suddenly were out to a 3-2 lead.

Cody Bellinger followed with a double, and after Chase Utley’s deep fly ball to left field was the first out of the inning, Yasmani Grandal clubbed a two-run homer.

Despite the five-run inning, Perdomo pitched through the sixth. He exited with the Padres only trailing by a run, but their bullpen failed to keep it that way.

Turner turned on an inside pitch for a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Dodgers an insurance run. The multi-home run game was Turner’s second in the past week and third this season.

Behind Bellinger’s double and home runs by Grandal and Turner, the Dodgers extended their streak to 57 consecutive games with at least two-extra base hits. It’s the longest such streak in MLB history since at least 1913.
