Dodgers Video: Justin Turner Hits 3-Run Home Run Against Rockies

In the second game of the series against the Colorado Rockies, the Los Angeles Dodgers figured to gain from jumping out to an early lead given Julio Urias was on the mound for his Dodger Stadium debut.

After Urias managed to work out of some trouble in the first, the Dodgers offense quickly went to work in the bottom half of the inning.

Chase Utley, who has been in a rut recently, managed a leadoff walk on five pitches. Corey Seager worked a full count before also drawing a walk that put Rockies starter Eddie Butler in a bit of a jam.

On top of that, Butler next faced Justin Turner, who’s enjoyed plenty of success against the right-hander over his career. After delivering two pitches well out of the zone, Dustin Garneau made a visit to the mound.

That didn’t correlate to any success as Turner hit Butler’s next offering, fastball, into the left field pavilion for a three-run home run:

The home run was Turner’s first at Dodger Stadium this season, and fourth overall. It proved to be a key hit as the Dodgers offense went stagnant for the remainder of the game, which allowed Colorado to chip away at their deficit.

With two outs in the ninth inning, outfielder Trayce Thompson hit his second walk-off home run of the season.
