After dropping the first two games of the series at Coors Field, the Los Angeles Dodgers received a strong performance from Kenta Maeda and a trio of relievers, and clutch hitting, to avoid being swept by the Colorado Rockies.

Tyler Chatwood tossed three scoreless innings before the Dodgers managed to put together their biggest threat. That being said, Los Angeles only took a 1-0 lead on Howie Kendrick’s RBI single.

Colorado erased their deficit in the bottom half of the inning as David Dahl followed Nolan Arenado’s leadoff single with a two-run home run.

After being robbed of an extra-base hit by Daniel Descalso earlier in the game, Corey Seager crushed a solo home run in the fifth to pull the Dodgers even with the Rockies.

The 449-foot home run was the longest of Seager’s young career:

Seager’s home run was his 19th this season, which ties the record Hanley Ramirez set for most in a single season by a Los Angeles shortstop. Glenn Wright holds the franchise record with 22 homers hit for Brooklyn in 1930.

Seager’s blast started a three-run rally for the Dodgers, with Yasmani Grandal’s two-run triple proving to be the difference in their 4-2 victory.
