Clayton Kershaw entered Wednesday’s start a lifetime 10-2 with a 1.46 ERA against the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium. Kershaw was also 9-0 with a 0.47 ERA in his past 10 home starts, a stretch that dates back to May 1, 2016.

There was a bit of a delay to the Dodgers’ homestand finale due to Rockies starter Tyler Anderson completing his pregame bullpen late. Anderson’s walk to the dugout prevented Kershaw from delivering the first pitch at 7:10 p.m. PT.

The three-time Cy Young Award winner called the situation “disrespectful.” Once play began, the Rockies loaded the bases with nobody out in the blink of an eye.

However, they managed to push across just one run — on a sacrifice fly. Kershaw offset the 27-pitch inning by throwing 10 pitches in each the second and third innings. He retired 12 in a row after the first three batters of the game reached.

Kershaw finished the night with just two runs allowed, and 10 strikeouts to one walk over seven innings.

The double-digit strikeout game was Kershaw’s 52nd of his career, which leads the Majors since his debut in 2008. In addition, Kershaw improved to 10-0 with a 0.65 ERA, 96 strikeouts and six walks in his past 11 starts at Dodger Stadium.

By remaining unbeaten in the 11 home outings, he matched a franchise record. Kershaw is now a lifetime 86-0 when he receives four-plus runs of support. His efforts helped the Dodgers end a three-game losing streak and send the team on a seven-game road trip with some positivity behind them.
