Tuesday was Clayton Kershaw bobblehead night at Dodger Stadium, and although the longtime Los Angeles Dodgers ace wasn’t taking the mound, his family was on hand to celebrate.

Kershaw was accompanied early by Charley Kershaw, who has developed a close friendship with Charlie Freeman. The two play on the same Little League team and were together — along with Clayton and Freddie Freeman prior to some Dodgers taking part in voluntary batting practice.

A couple hours later, Kershaw’s wife Ellen, and their other children, Cali Ann, Cooper and Chance arrived at Dodger Stadium. Cali Ann, Charley and Cooper held the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.

The Kershaw children then posed for a photograph with their parents before announcing the “It’s time for Dodger baseball!” customary closing to the crowd to wrap up pregame ceremonies.

A Kershaw bobblehead being on the Dodgers’ giveaway schedule is commonplace, but fans this year were treated to a version of the left-hander posed after receiving his 2020 World Series ring. Kershaw additionally is dressed in the Dodgers’ Gold Series uniform to complete the snapshot of the moment players received their rings last year.

Various Kershaw bobbleheads have also been made available by FOCO, including one to commemorate his passing of Don Sutton for first place on the all-time Dodgers strikeouts list. That model immediately sold out, but a Kershaw All-Star bobblehead remains available for preorder.

Kershaw appreciative of celebrating with family

With his children now older and able to better remember various moments, Kershaw has found more satisfaction in various accomplishments over recent seasons.

One instance was becoming the Dodgers’ strikeout king, and more recently with getting to start the All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium.
