After calling one Cactus League — when the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the San Francisco Giants at Camelback Ranch on March 25 — Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully was in the booth for the first two games of the Freeway Series.

Scully is entering his 67th and final season as the voice of Dodger baseball. Coinciding with his retirement, a motion was approved in January to rename Elysian Park Avenue to Vin Scully Avenue.

While Scully has scaled his travel schedule back over the years, he intends to expand it a bit this year. He’s calling Opening Day in San Diego on Monday, and plans to make the trip to AT&T Park for the Dodgers’ final regular-season series of 2016.

Along with providing riveting analysis and insight during his broadcasts, Scully has so effortlessly waxed poetically to deliver background information and anecdotes on players, certain events and more, throughout his storied career.

Such was the case in the sixth inning on Friday night when Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols was batting against J.P. Howell. “Every time I say the name Albert,” Scully began as he recounted prank calls he and others made during his childhood days:
