After unveiling commemorative seats in the right field pavilion at Dodger Stadium in honor of Kirk Gibson hitting a walk-off home run in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers are again giving fans an opportunity to sit where the ball landed.

Registration is open now through March 20 for the chance to purchase the “Kirk Gibson Seat” — Section 302, Row D, Seat 1 — which is sold in a pair and includes two commemorative t-shirts and donation to the Kirk Gibson Foundation.

The pair of tickets cost $300, of which $200 is donated to Gibson’s foundation to support and raise awareness for Parkinson’s research. The Dodgers will also donate remaining proceeds from the sale to the Kirk Gibson Foundation.

The Dodgers debuted the Kirk Gibson seat program last season for the 30th anniversary of the 1988 World Series, and the seats sold out for the season, generating $24,300. In addition to painting the seat blue, Gibson paid a visit to Dodger Stadium to sign it.

“To come out here and have this, what it is today, and with the Dodgers stepping up and joining my foundation’s initiative and our mission, I’m very proud that they are doing that and very thankful,” Gibson said at the time.

He threw out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Day of the 2018 season, and returned with Dennis Eckersley to hold the honor prior to Game 4 of the World Series.

More information on the Kirk Gibson Foundation can be found at KirkGibsonFoundation.org.
