The Los Angeles Dodgers held their final Summer Camp intrasquad scrimmage at Dodger Stadium on Friday night, with Kiké Hernandez’s team completing the three-game sweep over Justin Turner’s team.

The Dodgers’ two top starters opposed each other on the mound with Clayton Kershaw making his final tuneup before Opening Day and Walker Buehler seeing his first game action of Summer Camp.

Buehler only threw two innings but looked like his usual dominant self, retiring all seven hitters he faced. He won’t be built up as much as Kershaw and some of the other starters to begin the season but looks healthy and ready for another strong year.

Kershaw got off to a bit of a rough start in his outing, allowing a single to Hernandez and then a double to Corey Seager in the first inning. Will Smith later took Kershaw deep, going the opposite way for a two-run shot, his third of Summer Camp with all coming in the last four games.

While Smith and Seager have both been swinging the bat well, perhaps the hottest hitter on the team currently is Hernandez. He played a big part in his team earning the sweep, not only drafting the players but at the plate as well.

He took Kershaw deep to the opposite field, his third of Summer Camp and second in the last two games. Hernandez finished the night with three hits in his team’s 7-0 victory.

Other than the two home runs, Kershaw was dominant on the night, striking out 10 in 6.1 innings of work on 90 pitches.

Exhibition games and Opening Day now on deck

Now that the Dodgers have completed all of their Summer Camp intrasquad scrimmages, they will have a team workout on Saturday before beginning exhibition games.

L.A. is scheduled to play three exhibition games before the start of the regular season, welcoming the Arizona Diamondbacks to town on both Sunday and Monday night and then hosting the L.A. Angels on Tuesday.

After a day off on Wednesday, the Dodgers will do it for real on Thursday night when they face the rival San Francisco Giants on Opening Day at Dodger Stadium. The pitching matchup is expected to feature a pair of veterans in Kershaw and Johnny Cueto.
