Coming off a disappointing season, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig made headlines for his involvement in a scuffle outside a Miami bar last month.

One report had Puig getting escorted out of the bar by employees after he got physical with his sister.

That led to Major League Baseball launching an investigation over the alleged domestic violence incident.

They’ve yet to formally clear Puig, though he was part of MLB’s goodwill tour of Cuba this week.

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Puig attempted to diffuse a situation between his sister and her boyfriend:

Word from someone briefed on the encounter is that Puig originally tried to play peacemaker between his sister and her boyfriend, but was asked to leave after getting a bit loud. There may have been some disagreement about how quickly he was leaving, and bar workers are said to have physically escorted him out. Apparently, he got hit in the eye during the escorting process, then after he broke free from their grip or they let him go, he apparently retaliated with a shot to one of the rougher bar workers.

Puig previously claimed he acted out of self defense. As for Puig getting physical with his sister, it was recently reported MLB investigators didn’t find any evidence to support that claim.

No arrests were made and neither side pressed charges. Puig nonetheless continues to be the subject of trade rumors, though Dodgers president of baseball operations said last month he believes the club can greatly benefit from having a healthy Puig on the roster.
