The Los Angeles Dodgers re-signed Yefry Ramirez to a Minor League contract, according to Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America, and he will likely report to Triple-A Oklahoma City to provide pitching depth for the organization.

Although the MLB lockout prevents teams from signing Major League players, Ramirez entered the offseason as a Minor League free agent, which made him eligible to work out a deal with the Dodgers.

The right-hander was in their organization last season and made one Major League appearance on Aug. 1 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He pitched two innings and allowed no runs or hits, walked one, and struck out two.

For Oklahoma City last season, the 28-year-old threw 113 innings with a 5.02 ERA and 5.05 FIP.

Ramirez has two other years of experience at the Major League level, most recently with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2019. He only appeared in nine games with the Pirates and threw 14 innings while allowing 15 runs (12 earned) with 16 strikeouts and seven walks.

Prior to that, Ramirez pitched for the Baltimore Orioles in 2018 and part of 2019. With the Orioles, he threw 75.2 innings in 21 games (13 starts) and gave up 51 earned runs (6.07 ERA) while allowing 75 hits, striking out 73 and walking 45.

Ramirez owns a career 6.19 ERA in 91.2 innings.

Dodgers signed Eddy Alvarez, Tomas Telis

Along with Ramirez, the Dodgers made two other recent Minor League signings as they agreed to deals with Eddy Alvarez and Tomas Telis.

Alvarez, who will turn 32 years old on January 30, has experience at second base, third base and shortstop. He made his MLB debut with the Miami Marlins last year and appeared in 24 games for the club this past season.

The Miami native has hit .188/.287/.287 with five doubles, one triple, one home run and eight RBI over his limited opportunities at the Major League level thus far.

Telis, a 30-year-old catcher, has played parts of five seasons with the Texas Rangers and Miami Marlins.

He has hit a combined .230/.267/.298 with eight doubles, three triples, one home run and 24 RBI in 267 plate appearances over 122 games.
