Dodgers Roster: Tyler Glasnow Activated Off 60-Day Injured List, Alexis Díaz Optioned

The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated Tyler Glasnow from the 60-day injured list and optioned Alexis Díaz to Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Wednesday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Michael Kopech was transferred to the 60-day IL in order to make room for Glasnow on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster.

Glasnow is back on the Dodgers roster for the first time since April 27. He pitched just one inning that afternoon before coming out because of right shoulder inflammation that forced him to the 15-day injured list the following day.

That was accompanied by confusion and frustration, as both Glasnow and the Dodgers were largely at a loss over his injury issue. He was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 31 amid the prolonged recovery process.

Glasnow advanced to starting a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on June 22. He pitched again for the affiliate five days later and made a third start with the Comets on July 3.

The 31-year-old pitched to an 8.31 ERA and 2.08 WHIP in the three starts. Glasnow’s first outing was a scoreless effort, but he then allowed five runs in the second start and three his last time out.

Glasnow went 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in five starts for the Dodgers before going on the injured list. Three of his outings were shortened, however.

The first instance saw Glasnow complete just two innings against the Philadelphia Phillies before rainy weather forced him out due to lack of comfort on the mound. He then left a start at Globe Life Field on April 20 due to cramping while warming up in the bottom of the fifth.

That was followed by experiencing right shoulder trouble his next time out, which prompted the stint on the IL.

Tyler Glasnow replaces Alexis Díaz

Díaz heads back to the Minors one day after he was called up from Oklahoma City. The right-hander didn’t pitch in the Dodgers’ loss to the Brewers on Tuesday night.

Díaz is 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA and 1.93 WHIP in six appearances for the Comets. The Dodgers acquired Díaz in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds in late May.
