The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Michael Grove from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned Andre Jackson prior to Wednesday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Grove makes a spot start in the series finale to provide the rotation with an extra day of rest. His outing additionally comes one night after the Dodgers won the National League West title for a ninth time in the past 10 seasons.

The start is Grove’s third for the Dodgers and fourth overall game. The right-hander made his MLB debut May 15 against the Philadelphia Phillies but was optioned back to OKC the following day.

While up with the Dodgers, Grove has pitched to a 4.82 ERA and 1.82 WHIP. He last pitched for L.A. on Aug. 29, holding the Miami Marlins to just two runs over 4.2 innings.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was complimentary of Grove’s performance that came on short notice and in response to Tony Gonsolin being placed on the 15-day injured list due to a right forearm strain.

Jackson heads to Oklahoma City after spending a brief stretch on the Dodgers roster. He was recalled Sept. 10 as the corresponding move to Blake Treinen going on the IL because of right shoulder soreness.

Jackson only appeared in one game during that span, throwing two scoreless innings to finish out a series win against the San Diego Padres this past Sunday.

Andre Jackson was among Dodgers’ Chippendales

By joining the team last week, Jackson participated in the annual Dodgers dress-up day. He joined Cody Bellinger, Joey Gallo and Justin Turner in going as a member of the dance troupe.

Jackson was saved by Turner purchasing additional sets of bowties and cufflinks in the event a teammate was without a costume.
