Dodgers Reinstate J.T. Chargois From 10-Day Disabled List

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that they have reinstated J.T. Chargois from the 10-day disabled list ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Chargois missed the last month with a neck/arm nerve injury, but with him being reinstated, all 40 players on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster are now active.

In 38 games for the Dodgers this season, Chargois has posted a 3.45 ERA, 4.02 FIP and 1.31 WHIP while striking out 38 and walking 15 in 31.1 innings.

After some ineffectiveness early in the season, Chargois required a short stint with Triple-A Oklahoma City. In 18 games after being called back up, he pitched to a 1.88 ERA before going down with the injury.

With just six games remaining in the regular season and the Dodgers bullpen performing at a high level in recent weeks, it is unclear what, if any, role Chargois can carve out for himself. With Minor League seasons being over, Chargois also did not have the luxury of being able to go out on a rehab assignment before being activated.

He will provide depth for the Dodgers bullpen though, and could get an opportunity in a low-leverage situation to prove that he is healthy and can return to his pre-injury form.
