After a year-and-a-half hiatus, Minor League Baseball returns this week. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ Double-A affiliate Tulsa Drillers kick off the 2021 season on Tuesday when they host the Amarillo Sod Poodles at ONEOK Field.

Ahead of their home opener, Tulsa officially set their initial 28-man active roster, which includes notable Dodgers prospects Michael Busch and Kody Hoese.

Busch and Hoese were ranked the Nos. 3 and 4 prospects in the Dodgers organization entering the 2021 season by MLB Pipeline. The former additionally placed No. 87 in Baseball America’s top 100 prospect rankings.

Busch (No. 31 overall) and Hoese (No. 25) were each selected by the Dodgers in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft. Both made their professional debut that year and were included in the club’s player pool last season, where they continued developing at the alternate site.

Other notable players on the Drillers’ roster include Gerardo Carillo and Andre Jackson, who additionally are on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster.

A total of eight Drillers are featured in MLB Pipeline’s ranking of the top 30 Dodgers prospects, and six of them appeared in Cactus League games this past spring.

Along with Busch (No. 3), Hoese (4), Carillo (18) and Jackson (29), the four other Dodgers prospects to appear in MLB Pipeline’s top-30 rankings are Pepiot (7), Amaya (10), Grove (22) and Mann (23).
