The Los Angeles Dodgers have undergone some changes with their front office and coaching staff so far in the early stages of this offseason.

Despite an expectation that their coaching staff would remain in place for the 2023 season, they lost co-hitting coach Brant Brown to the Miami Marlins as their new hitting coach. The expectation is also that assistant hitting coach Aaron Bates will receive a promotion to fill Brown’s role.

In addition to their coaching change, the Dodgers recently made a promotion from their research and development team, naming Emilee Fragapane as their new director of integrative baseball performance, according to J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group:

The Dodgers promoted Emilee Fragapane to Director, Integrative Baseball Performance. She’s been a stalwart of their R&D team since 2014, and at times a hands-on assistant in BP.

Fragapane has been in the Dodgers organization since she first worked as a baseball operations and research intern in June 2013. The following year, she was officially hired by the team, joining as an analyst for the R&D staff.

In the years since, Fragapane has worked as a coordinator of baseball operations, coordinator of baseball R&D and senior analyst of performance science, which has been her role since Jan. 2019.

Fragapane holds a master of arts in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she also served as a baseball intern for the school in 2013-14. Prior to her graduate degree, she received her bachelor of arts in quantitative microeconomics from Sonoma State University and worked as a research assistant while there.

Manny Mota receives Latino Baseball Hall of Fame Award

Earlier this year the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame announced that beloved Dodgers figure Manny Mota would be inducted into their organization.

He received his Latino Baseball Hall of Fame (Salon de la Fama del Beísbol Latino) award at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday and was interviewed by legendary Spanish broadcaster Jaime Jarrín. The interview will air during the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame’s virtual ceremony in December.

It is the first Baseball Hall of Fame Mota has joined. Mota enjoyed a 20-year playing career that included stints with the San Francisco Giants (1962), Pittsburgh Pirates (1963-68), Montreal Expos (1969) and Dodgers (1969-80, 82).
