2024 NLCS: Dodgers Set Multiple MLB Postseason Records Vs. Mets

The Los Angeles Dodgers punched their ticket to the World Series with a 10-5 win over the New York Mets in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series.

All six games had decisive outcomes as the Dodgers’ 9-0 win in Game 1 represented the largest margin of victory. The smallest margin of victory was the Mets’ 7-3 win in Game 2.

The average margin of victory in the NLCS was 6.7 runs, which set a new MLB postseason record:

The Dodgers scored at least eight runs in four of the six NLCS games, which tied the 1993 Toronto Blue Jays and 1960 New York Yankees for the most in a single postseason series:

All four of the Dodgers’ wins against the Mets were by at least five runs, which tied the 2012 Giants, 2010 Texas Rangers and 2007 Red Sox for the most in a single postseason series:

All six of the NLCS games were decided by at least four runs, which joined the 1965 World Series between the Minnesota Twins and Dodgers as the only postseason series with those margins of victory:

The Dodgers outscored the Mets, 46-26, in six games, which is tied for the fourth-best run differential in a single postseason series:

Shohei Ohtani reached base 16 times during the NLCS, which set a new Dodgers postseason record. Tommy Edman also tied Corey Seager’s franchise record with 11 RBI in the NLCS en route to MVP honors.

Dodgers win 22nd National League pennant in franchise history

The Dodgers won their 22nd NL pennant in franchise history and first since 2020. It’s the 13th NL championship in Los Angeles franchise history and first time doing so at Dodger Stadium since 1988 against the Mets.

Next for the Dodgers is a World Series matchup against the Yankees.
