The Los Angeles Dodgers activated Yu Darvish and optioned Josh Ravin to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Darvish is scheduled to make his debut with he Dodgers on Friday night in a matchup with Jacob deGrom and the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Darvish was acquired from the Texas Rangers in exchange for a trio of prospects. The trade was completed within the final minutes leading up to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

Darvish, who will turn 31 years old on Aug. 16, went 6-9 with a 4.01 ERA in 22 starts this season with the Rangers. He endured a rough July, particularly two poor outings, though Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi explained the team doesn’t have any concerns over that stretch.

In five seasons with the Rangers, the right-hander went 52-39 with a 3.42 ERA in 122 starts. Darvish was named an All-Star in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017. He missed the entire 2015 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Since making his MLB debut in 2012, Darvish leads the American League in opponents’ batting average (.218) and strikeouts per nine innings (11.04). He ranks seventh in ERA and strikeouts (960), and 10th in WHIP (1.18).

Ravin returns to Oklahoma City one night after failing to retire either of the two batters faced and surrendering a two-run home run in the eighth inning. That trimmed the Dodgers’ lead 3-2, which held as the final score.

Over two stints with the Dodgers this season, Ravin has one save and a 3.38 ERA while holding opponents to a .111 batting average in four relief appearances. Ravin is 3-0 with a 4.66 ERA in 24 games with Oklahoma City this year.
