Dodgers News: Yasiel Puig’s Home Burglarized During Game 7 Of World Series

Playing in their first World Series since 1988, the Los Angeles Dodgers were part of a memorable series with the Houston Astros that ended in disappointment. The Dodgers played on Halloween night for the first time, and Dodger Stadium hosted a Game 7 of the World Series in what was another first.

Reaching the Fall Classic was predicted by Yasiel Puig in August, and he backed it with stellar play throughout the year. The season was easily Puig’s best since making his MLB debut in 2013.

While the Dodgers were looking to end their championship drought, Puig’s home that he recently moved into was burglarized. Fortunately, it appears to have been more of an inconvenience than substantial loss.

According to TMZ Sports, it’s not believed he was targeted, and all that was taken were minor jewelry pieces:

This ain’t the double play Yasiel Puig needed — while he and the Dodgers were losing Game 7 of the World Series, a burglar hit his house and made off with jewelry … TMZ Sports has learned.

Cops are now telling us they don’t think Yasiel was targeted. They say it was a random hit by what appears to be a homeless man.

Puig’s probably not sweating this after all … a law enforcement source tells us the burglar made off with costume jewelry. Total value is a mere $150!

The report indicates the burglar gained access to Puig’s home by breaking a window, which triggered an alarm. The suspect was caught on video surveillance, but an arrest has not yet been made.

The home Puig previously lived in was burglarized in February, with thieves that time making off with more than $150,000 in jewelry. Similar to Wednesday’s incident, no one was home at the time.
