Now in a seventh season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the most Justin Turner has spent with any club, he reached 10 years of Major League service time on Sunday.

“I actually don’t know when that is,” Turner said last week. “This is a weird year, so I don’t know if one day counts as three days, or when that’s coming up. I think it’s kind of a date that sticks out to a lot of guys. We have a few guys in the clubhouse that have already hit their 10th year.

“I think Kenley just hit his a couple days ago. I know he’s a few days ahead of me in service time, so mine is coming up. It’s crazy to think about where I was, the road I’ve taken to get here, to be coming up on 10 years is pretty cool to think about.”

Although Turner is on the 10-day injured list due to a strained left hamstring, it was an achievement worth celebrating.

Kourtney worked with VaynerSports to have a custom bottle of El Tesoro Tequila designed that was then presented to Turner’s teammates, family and friends.

The presentation box featured Turner name, a congratulatory note about his service time as well as an illustration. The bottle was wrapped in tissue paper featuring artwork of Turner’s MLB career and various inspirational mottos honoring his commitment to baseball and El Tesoro’s commitment to craft. One of which reads, “This is a Calling. A Craft. A Pursuit.”

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts commended both Kenley Jansen and Turner for their years in the Majors, saying, “It means a lot. We recognized both guys on two separate days.

“It’s a special occasion for both of them. The consistency, longevity, performance. Those guys do a great job of enjoying each day. Very, very proud of those guys.”

Per the MLB Players Association, an estimated 6% of the 20,000 players in the game’s history have accumulated 10 years of service time.

Kourtney Turner credited for Roberto Clemente Award

Justin was named the Dodgers’ nominee for the 2020 Roberto Clemente Award, marking a third career time he was up for one of MLB’s most prestigious honors. Although he was who formally earned recognition, Turner quickly noted the impact of his wife.

“First and foremost, Kourtney should be sitting up here next to me. She deserves as much of the credit and recognition for this award as I get,” Justin said last week.

“She’s been unbelievable for our foundation, keeping everything organized, moving forward, responding and setting things up. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her. I would have no chance of doing this if it wasn’t for her. She is incredibly organized, she spends hours and hours on her computer every day, going through emails, answering emails, setting up food deliveries, reaching out to different companies for sponsors.

“We don’t have a whole lot of help. She takes the reins on pretty much everything because she’s a believer if you want things done the way you want them done, you just do it yourself. Almost to a fault she takes on so much. Sometimes it’s tough on her, but she always comes up in the clutch and gets it done. There would be no Justin Turner Foundation if it wasn’t for her.”
