The Los Angeles Dodgers may soon have a fifth player named to the National League roster for the 2017 MLB All-Star Game, as Justin Turner maintained his lead over Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant and others in the Final Vote update that was released Wednesday morning.

Turner has received 12.9 million votes, after outpacing his fellow Final Vote candidates with 6.7 million votes as of Tuesday morning. Turner’s All-Star campaign has been spearheaded on social media by his fiancée, Kourtney, and the Dodgers have established a voting headquarters at Dodger Stadium.

Turner raised his batting average yet again, with a 2-for-4 night against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the opener of a key three-game series.

He lined an RBI single off the top of the wall in left field to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, then extended it with a solo home run in the third.

Turner enters play Wednesday batting .384/.472/.569 with 16 doubles, eight home runs and 33 RBI. He’s closing in on logging the requisite number of plate appearances to qualify for the batting title.

Voting for Turner can be completed at VoteJustinTurner.com (unlimited voting) and by texting N5 to 89269 (USA) or 101010 (Canada). Voting by text message is limited to 35 per phone number.

From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. PT on Thursday, July 6, tweets with #VoteJT will also count. Voting concludes Thursday at 1 p.m.
