The Los Angeles Dodgers successfully completed a three-game sweep over the San Diego Padres on Sunday, staying within striking distance of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies in the National League West.

After propelling the Dodgers to a walk-off victory on Saturday, Justin Turner once again led the way offensively with another multi-hit performance. This time, he collected three hits, two doubles and a game-high five RBI in the club’s 7-3 victory at Dodger Stadium.

It marked the third consecutive game in which Turner accounted for at least two hits and one run scored. His five RBI also tied for a career high — a total he’s now reached on three separate occasions this season — with the last taking place at Safeco Field a mere seven days ago.

Turner credited his recent surge at the plate to feeling healthy and not suffering any setbacks from his previous wrist and groin injuries, via Ken Gurnick of MLB.com:

“I feel like I’m in a pretty good spot right now,” said Turner. “Haven’t had any problems with the wrist and the groin is feeling good. Seeing the ball pretty good. Knock on wood, try to keep getting better every day.”

Since his activation off the disabled list at the start of August, Turner has statistically performed as one of the best hitters in baseball. He entered Monday’s off day tops in batting average (.405), on-base percentage (.485) and FanGraphs’ WAR (1.8) for the month.

In addition to his health, Turner believes a recent tweak in his batting stance has attributed to the success he’s enjoyed over the last 30 days of play.

All-in-all this season, Turner is hitting .308/.398/.508 with 18 doubles, one triple, 10 home runs and 39 RBI across 289 plate appearances (71 games).
