Former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda is being honored by the city of Fullerton with a street fair on Thursday, and an exhibit that is on display at the Fullerton Museum Center.

Lasorda resided in Fullerton for nearly seven decades prior to his passing on Jan. 7, 2021. The street fair event — taking place for Tommy Lasorda Day 2022 — will include food and beverages provided by Monkey Business Cafe Food Truck, Play Coffee, Mexico Lindo, Lasorda Wines, FMC Beer Garden.

Festivities also are due to include live music, special guest speakers, baseball author and historians discussion featuring Chris Epting, author of “Baseball in Orange County,” Hall of Fame artist Christopher Paluso, and additional vendors are scheduled to participate as well.

Steve Sax, who played eight seasons for the Dodgers and was part of the 1988 World Series team that Lasorda famously managed, is scheduled to speak.

The Lasorda fair is being held at 301 N. Pomona Ave., Fullerton, Calif., from 4-9 p.m. PT on Thursday.

Meanwhile, “A Tribute To Baseball and Dodgers Legend Tommy Lasorda” exhibit is on display at the Fullerton Museum Center and is open until December 30, 2022.

Fullerton and Tollo, Italy establish Tommy Lasorda Day

City of Fullerton mayor Bruce Whitaker and Tollo, Italy Mayor Angelo Radica signed a letter of intent to become Sister Cities in honor of the late Lasorda.

His reach beyond the game of baseball was felt worldwide and he meant an incredible amount to the Dodgers and MLB. Lasorda led the Dodgers to four National League pennants, two World Series and finished with a 1,599-1,439 record.

Lasorda was named National League Manager of the Year in 1983 and 1988, and maintained ties to the organization as either a player, coach, scout, manager, executive or special advisor for 71 years.
