The Los Angeles Dodgers re-signed relief pitcher Chin-Hui Tsao to a Minor League contract, per Matt Eddy of Baseball America.

Tsao was banned by the Chinese Professional Baseball League under allegations that he was involved in fixing games. He signed with an Australian team in November 2014, but never played as the CPBL pressured the Australian League into honoring the ban.

Major League Baseball cleared Tsao, which paved the way to him signing a Minor League contract with the Dodgers prior to Spring Training beginning last year.

The right-hander debuted with the Dodgers on July 10, marking Tsao’s first Major-League appearance since 2007.

In five games with the Dodgers, Tsao was 1-1 with a 10.29 ERA, 7.99 FIP, 2.57 WHIP, seven strikeouts and three walks over seven innings.

Tsao’s inflated ERA is tied to allowing six runs in 0.2 innings of a blowout loss to the New York Mets at Citi Field on July 25. He otherwise allowed two runs over his four other appearances.

In 30 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City last season, Tsao went 2-1 with seven saves, a 3.00 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 42 strikeouts and 11 walks. The Taiwanese native also pitched in four games with Double-A Tulsa, going 0-1 with two saves, 7.20 ERA and 1.20 WHIP.
