The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Adam Liberatore (left groin strain) and Andrew Toles (torn right ACL) on the 10-day disabled list and recalled Brett Eibner and Scott Van Slyke from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to the series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Toles suffered a torn ACL in the seventh inning on Tuesday night, and is slated for surgery in two weeks. Toles, who will likely miss the remainder of the season and potential playoff games, batted .271/.314/.458 with three doubles and 15 RBI in 31 games (19 starts). He tied for second on the team with five home runs.

Liberatore, who last pitched Monday by throwing a scoreless inning, has only appeared in two games for the Dodgers. He’s thrown a combined 1.1 innings and allowed one run on one hit, walked one and struck out one.

Liberatore has pitched to a 0.93 ERA and 0.62 WHIP in eight games (9.2 innings) for Oklahoma City.

As for Eibner, he joins the Dodgers for a third time this season. He is 1-for-5 in three games (two starts). Eibner hit .258/.296/.455 with two doubles, one triple, three home runs and 10 RBI in 21 games with Oklahoma City.

Van Slyke was off to a slow start this season, which led to a demotion on May 2 when Franklin Gutierrez was reinstated from the disabled list. To that point Van Slyke had just four hits (one double; one home run), two RBI, five walks and 12 strikeouts in 36 plate appearances.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts believed Van Slyke would stand to gain from an everyday role with Oklahoma City.

That lasted all of four games, with Van Slyke going 3-for-15 with one double, one RBI, one walk and four strikeouts.

Liberatore and Toles became the 16th and 17th Dodgers put on the disabled list this season. Los Angeles set an MLB record in 2016 by putting 28 different players on the DL.

With Wednesday’s roster moves, the Dodgers are back to carrying a more typical five-man bench.
