Last offseason was filled with weddings for the Los Angeles Dodgers as Mookie Betts, Walker Buehler, Chris Taylor and Caleb Ferguson all tied the knot, and now Alex Vesia will soon join them.
Vesia shared the news and photos of proposing to Kayla Howard at Marine Street Beach in La Jolla, a county in San Diego which is near where the left-hander was born and raised. Vesia and Howard have been in a relationship since April 2019.
Earlier this year, Howard joined Vesia in attending the Dodgers Blue Diamond Gala and she often makes her way to Dodger Stadium to support Vesia and the team.
Vesia and Howard also revealed their dog, Rufus, who joined in on the proposal photos.
The former 17th-round pick out of California State University, East Bay, was acquired after the 2020 season from the Miami Marlins in exchange for Dylan Floro. Vesia has since seen his career take off after allowing nine earned runs in 4.1 innings for the Marlins in 2020 to becoming a dominant lefty who’s carried a 2.19 ERA over 94.1 innings for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers and Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) partnered with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH), Brotherhood Crusade, UCLA Health, and Reyes Coca-Cola for two Thanksgiving community events this past week.
The first took place at the St. Joseph Center’s Bread and Roses Cafe in Venice on Wednesday, November 16, as the Dodgers and LACDMH served Thanksgiving meals to individuals experiencing homelessness. Alex Vesia, Yency Almonte and Orel Hershiser represented the Dodgers at the event, joining Dr. Curley L. Bonds, the chief medical officer of the LACDMH.
Hygiene kits and co-branded blankets were also distributed to those in attendance. The Dodgers have provided turkeys to the local community for more than 18 years during the holiday season, and this year they donated $30,000 to six local charities that provide turkeys and trimming to Angelenos in need.
