Dodgers Injury Updates: Michael Kopech, Evan Phillips & Blake Snell

The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently without several key pitchers due to injury, including Michael Kopech, Evan Phillips and Blake Snell.

Kopech reported to Camelback Ranch behind schedule because of lingering effects from right forearm inflammation that surfaced during the 2024 postseason.

Phillips also was delayed during Spring Training because of still needing to work his way back from a right rotator cuff strain that prevented him from pitching in the World Series.

Meanwhile, Snell was placed on the 15-day injured list earlier this month due to left shoulder inflammation that he pitched through in his first two starts with the Dodgers.

Dodgers injury updates

Michael Kopech

Kopech threw a bullpen session on Friday and is rejoining the Dodgers this week to continue his rehab.

“Threw a ‘pen [Friday] and he’s going to be here, joining us to throw one on Tuesday,” manager Dave Roberts said. “Michael will be in town for us to get some eyes on him. Things are slowly moving forward.”

Evan Phillips

Phillips, after already making four previous rehab outings, is scheduled to continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City this week.

“Evan is going on Tuesday in OKC,” Roberts confirmed. “We’re getting close. I don’t want to give an exact date, but he’s got, probably a few more, and then he’ll be back.”

Phillips feels healthy and has been itching to return to the Dodgers.

“Physically, he is in a great state. He is getting a little anxious. A little angsty,” Roberts said.

Blake Snell

Snell, who has been shut down from throwing, is set to play catch Monday for the first time since landing on the IL.

Snell’s stint on the injured list was backdated to April 3 and the expectation is he will miss at least two starts.

The left-hander underwent an MRI that revealed inflammation but no other damage in his shoulder. Roberts described that as the best-case scenario they could have hoped for.
