The Los Angeles Dodgers have gotten back some key contributors in recent weeks, but remain without Max Muncy, Clayton Kershaw and Ryan Brasier due to respective injuries.

Muncy has been sidelined for nearly two months because of a right hamstring strain and appeared to be on the verge of returning before suffering a recent setback.

Meanwhile, Kershaw is inching closer to beginning a rehab assignment, which would be the final hurdle before joining the Dodgers for the first time this season.

There is more uncertainty with Brasier, who has been out since the end of April with a right calf strain. The right-hander has been throwing but remains in the same boat as Muncy as far as a potential return.

Max Muncy

Muncy has begun taking dry swings and is participating in other baseball activities as well. “He’s running, throwing, catching the baseball,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “But as far as swinging, he’s not doing that. So I don’t know when we’re going to pick that up.”

Roberts did not offer a timeline on when Muncy may return, but the progress he has made is nevertheless encouraging. “No updated timeline,” Roberts said. “I mean, if you’re not swinging a bat, you’re out. Yeah, I just don’t know what that progression looks like.”

Clayton Kershaw

Kershaw, who has ramped up his throwing in recent weeks, will participate in another simulated game. “Clayton Kershaw is going to do a sim game on Thursday here against some of our guys,” Roberts said.

Ryan Brasier

Brasier recently threw a bullpen session but is still feeling some discomfort in his calf. “Brasier thew a pen. He just got here today, got back today. I’ll kind of give him a fly by, but threw a ‘pen,” Roberts said.

“Still feel some tentativeness with the calf, but the arm’s in good shape. So. I just don’t know what that looks like.”
