The Los Angeles Dodgers announced plans to host local youth at Camelback Ranch for select 2019 Cactus League. The effort, being completed a fourth consecutive year, is part of the Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball Program.

All told, the team will welcome 400 students, fifth through eighth grades, for Cactus League games and educational programs on Thursday, Feb. 28, and Friday, March 1. The students will get a chance to see the Dodgers face the Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres.

“We’re excited to give over 400 youth an unforgettable afternoon at the ballpark and host students from eight local schools,” Dodgers vice president of external affairs and community relations Naomi Rodriguez said.

“Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball is one of our largest community programs with tens of thousands of annual participants in Los Angeles, and we’re proud to continue to extend this experience to Glendale, which has been our spring home for over a decade.”

Following Thursday’s game, more than 150 students from Challenger, Bicentennial North, Desert Spirit and Sunset schools will participate in a baseball clinic led by Dodgers Minor League players. Prior to Friday’s contest, students from Mensendick, Coyote Ridge, Sine, and Glendale American schools will participate in a seminar focused on the legacy of Jackie Robinson.

All participants will receive an all-inclusive gameday experience, including tickets, transportation to the game, a Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball t-shirt, Dodgers cap and a boxed lunch, courtesy of Delaware North Sportservice.

Now in its sixth season, Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball has provided an all-inclusive gameday experience for more than 90,000 children and teens from underserved communities.
