After dropping two straight games, the Los Angeles Dodgers got back on track on Sunday afternoon with a 10-5 win over the Colorado Rockies to earn a series split at Coors Field.

Unlike the first three games of the series, the scoring actually didn’t get started until more than a few innings into play as the Dodgers led 1-0 through four. That run scored on a fielder’s choice by Matt Beaty to bring in Kenta Maeda, who singled earlier in the inning.

The offense opened up in the fifth inning, with the Dodgers tacking on two more runs and then the Rockies responding with four of their own to take lead.

Maeda actually drove home the first run during that stretch on a squeeze bunt, and then Joc Pederson drove in the other with a single to left field.

Pederson had a strong day at the plate, reaching base four times in six plate appearances. Overall, he went 3-for-5 with a walk and three RBI.

The Dodgers eventually broke the game open with six runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good. Included in that rally was an RBI double by Matt Beaty and RBI singles by both Pederson and Muncy.

Cody Bellinger also drove in two runs on the day to give him 67 on the season, which ranks second in all of baseball behind only Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell.

It’s no secret the Dodgers bullpen has struggled this season, and even more so throughout the series at Coors Field. Julio Urias provided a huge lift on Sunday by tossing three shutout innings to help complete the victory.

Urias allowed just one hit while striking out four and walking one. He is now up to 17 straight innings without allowing an earned run, lowering his ERA to 2.50 in the process.
