The Los Angeles Dodgers came from behind to defeat the San Diego Padres, 10-5, extending their winning streak to four and improving to a season-best 18 games above .500.

The Dodgers appeared to be on their way to starting a six-game road trip with a loss as Bobby Miller only pitched 3.2 innings and the Padres led 3-1 through six.

Although San Diego was ahead, James Outman opened the scoring with a solo home run. That came after Outman robbed Fernando Tatis Jr. of a homer with a leaping catch at the wall in center field. Outman made similar plays earlier this season against the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals.

Outman later cut the Dodgers’ deficit in half with an RBI single in the seventh inning to cash in David Peralta’s leadoff double.

Peralta collected his second extra-base hit of the game with an RBI double that pulled the Dodgers even in the eighth. It also helped propel them to a five-run inning, though the Padres bullpen played a key part in that.

Chris Taylor and J.D. Martinez both walked with the bases loaded, and Amed Rosario provided some insurance with a two-run single.

The Dodgers pulled away in the ninth on Will Smith’s RBI double, Peralta’s sacrifice fly and Taylor’s base hit.

Dodgers dominating Padres

After going 14-5 against the Padres during the 2022 regular season, the Dodgers are off to a 6-1 start in head-to-head meetings this year.

The Dodgers have won six games in a row against the Padres since losing at Petco Park on May 5.
