Dodgers Highlights: David Freese, Kiké Hernandez & Justin Turner Homer, Matt Beaty Collects First MLB Hit In Debut

After losing to the San Francisco Giants in the series opener, the Los Angeles Dodgers came out angry on Tuesday night and earned a 10-3 bounce-back victory to become the first team in baseball to 20 wins on the season.

All of the Dodgers’ damage offensively came against left-handed pitching, and that started in the top of the fourth inning against Giants starter Drew Pomeranz.

Justin Turner and Cody Bellinger got the rally started with a walk and a single, respectively, to begin the inning. David Freese then went with a breaking ball and barely got it over the high wall in right field for a three-run home run, his second of the season.

The Dodgers then really got going in the top of the sixth inning when Ty Blach entered as the second relief pitcher San Francisco called on.

Blach has fared well against the Dodgers in the past, but not on Tuesday night as Chris Taylor and Austin Barnes hit back-to-back two-run doubles to break the game open at 7-1.

Kiké Hernandez then capped off the six-run inning with a two-run home run to left field, his sixth of the season.

Hitting home runs in the month of April is not something that Justin Turner is accustomed to as he had just two in his career entering the night. Moreover, Turner was without a homer this season. He got himself on the board with a solo shot off Blach in the seventh.

Tuesday’s game was a special one for another reason, with Matt Beaty making his MLB debut after being recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move to A.J. Pollock landing on the 10-day injured list..

Beaty got a pinch-hit opportunity in the top of the eighth inning and did not waste any time earning his first career hit, slapping a single up the middle off Blach to cap off a fun night at Oracle Park for the Dodgers.
