The Los Angeles Dodgers closed out the regular season on a high note by defeating the San Francisco Giants, 5-2, for their 100th win of the year.

They took some lumps along the way as Giants starter Kyle Harrison hit Freddie Freeman and Will Smith in the first inning, and Chris Taylor in the fourth. Freeman and Smith remained in the game, but Taylor was eventually removed due to a left knee contusion.

Although Harrison hit three batters and walked two, he completed five hitless innings. He exited with the game scoreless, but that changed in the sixth inning.

Smith greeted John Brebbia with a leadoff single and he wound up being replaced after walking Max Muncy with one out. Taylor Rogers struck out Kolten Wong, only to then allow an RBI single to Amed Rosario.

James Outman kept the two-out rally going with an RBI base hit, and Kiké Hernández followed with a three-run homer to cap off the big inning. The Dodgers led all teams this season with 359 two-out RBI.

After Bobby Miller completed four scoreless innings in a planned shortened start, Victor González worked a clean fifth. Ryan Pepiot allowed a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth and Casey Schmitt hit another off the Dodgers rookie in the eighth inning to nearly the same spot in left field.

Evan Phillips retired the side in order to convert his 24th save of the season.

Dodgers 100 wins

The Dodgers became the first team in MLB history to win at least 100 games in four consecutive full seasons. Overall, the Dodgers have 100 wins in five of the last seven years.
