The Los Angeles Dodgers announced the pledge of 25,000 tickets in support of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Attendance Incentive Program. The game tickets will serve as a reward for deserving students.

“We’re proud to support LAUSD’s Attendance Incentive Program and look forward to welcoming some of the area’s best and brightest students to Dodger Stadium,” Dodgers vice president of external affairs and community relations Naomi Rodriguez said.

“Our Dodger players know the dedication necessary to accomplish goals over a long season, and join us in recognizing the efforts of these great students who bring their ‘A-game’ each day at school.”

Ross Stripling and Alex Verdugo are joining students at a local elementary school to kick off the partnership and participate in playground games. LAUSD superintendent Austin Beutner will additionally be on hand and make opening remarks at the assembly.

“We are grateful to have the Los Angeles Dodgers as a partner in our efforts to improve student attendance across Los Angeles Unified,” Beutner said. “We know that if students attend school today and every day, they can achieve great things tomorrow. The tickets provided by the Los Angeles Dodgers will incentivize more students to come to class, ready to learn.”

The Dodgers have previously supported school attendance through their Step Up to the Plate attendance program, which provides game tickets, goody bags, on-field recognitions and a certificate of achievement for local students who accomplished perfect attendance during the course of a semester.

While the partnership with LAUSD is a new venture for the franchise, they hosted local youth at Camelback Ranch the past four years as part of the Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball Program. Additionally, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation continues with various initiatives to give back.

The LADF recently announced plans to refurbish Jackie Robinson Stadium and build a new “Field 42” at Gonzales Park in the City of Compton. The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation additionally committed to reaching 75 Dodgers Dreamfields by 2033 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the team’s move from Brooklyn to Los Angeles.
