Ahead of the biggest performance of his career at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Kendrick Lamar received several accolades for his hit song “Not Like Us” at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards.

In total, Lamar took home five trophies for his work on “Not Like Us” as he won Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video.

During the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2024 World Series championship run, “Not Like Us” became their team anthem, playing in the clubhouse after wins and the phrase becoming a rallying cry among players and fans.

The organization has had a close connection to Lamar over the years and he grew up a Dodgers fan in L.A. Lamar released his sixth studio album “GNX”, which featured Dodgers’ Mariachi Singer Deyra Barrera, but it released too late to be considered for this year’s GRAMMY Awards.

That album also features the song “Dodger Blue.”

The Dodgers congratulated Lamar on his GRAMMY wins while also paying tribute to their own success as defending World Series champions.

Lamar has never been shy about letting his allegiances be known on the stage, proudly representing the city of L.A. and the Dodgers with his fashion choices. This year was no different as he donned a custom denim Dodgers cap for the occasion.

Lamar’s “GNX” album earned over 44.2 million first-day streams on the global Spotify chart. It received widespread critical acclaim and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, giving Lamar his fifth number-one album.

Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl LIX halftime performance

The 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime show will be the next big venture for Lamar when he takes the stage along with special guest SZA. It is Lamar’s second halftime show performance at the Super Bowl, but first as the headliner.
