When Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Joe Davis took over full-time for the late Vin Scully in 2017, being the next in line behind arguably the greatest voice in the history of baseball was no easy task.

Now, after finding much success as the new voice of the Dodgers, Davis is ready for an even bigger challenge in becoming the voice of the World Series on Fox.

For the first time in 25 years, the Fall Classic has a new play-by-play voice as Joe Buck moved on to ESPN.

Davis, a 34-year-old Michigan native, will have his work cut out for him as he takes over the World Series play-by-play reigns.

As the early returns on Davis’ postseason calls have been well regarded, the World Series will surely create a different atmosphere than your standard playoff game.

But Buck is certainly confident in Davis, who he offered words of encouragement and support for, via Bill Shaikin of the L.A. Times:

“The fact that it’s Joe makes me so happy,” Buck said. “He’s already taken on so much, by stepping into the role that Vin [Scully] had. I’m thrilled it’s somebody like Joe that cares and works as hard as he does, that gets the picture and understands how special doing a World Series is.”

Davis, who began his baseball broadcast career by calling games for the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, the Montgomery Biscuits after graduating college, was announced as Fox’s new primary MLB play-by-play voice back in April.

Along with the Fall Classic, the promotion included now being on the call for the All-Star Game. Fittingly, the first opportunity to do so came at Dodger Stadium.

How to hear Joe Davis on World Series broadcast schedule

To hear Davis behind the microphone, along with color commentator John Smoltz, below is the broadcast schedule for the 2022 World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros. All games are national broadcasts on Fox and can be streamed online via their app.

Game 1: Friday, October 28-5:03 PM PST
Game 2: Saturday, October 29-5:03 PM PST
Game 3: Monday, October 31-5:03 PM PST
Game 4: Tuesday, November 1-5:03 PM PST
Game 5*: Wednesday, November 2-5:03 PM PST
Game 6*: Friday, November 4-5:03 PM PST
Game 7*: Saturday, November 5-5:03 PM PST
