With the Boston Red Sox eliminating the defending World Series champion Houston Astros on Thursday night, the start time for a potential Game 7 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series was changed to 5:09 p.m. PT.

First pitch of a possible Game 7 at Miller Park on Saturday was initially set for 6:09 p.m., had the Red Sox and Astros needed a Game 6. Saturday’s NLCS game will still be televised by FS1.

The Dodgers went into Game 6 on Friday night in position to clinch a second consecutive NL pennant. They still can become the first team in franchise history to do so since 1977-78, and the first NL club to make back-to-back appearances in the World Series since the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 and 2009.

To do so without facing elimination themselves, Los Angeles needed to find better success against Wade Miley than they did in Game 1. He allowed two hits over 5.2 shutout innings but didn’t factor into the decision as the Dodgers stunned the Brewers bullpen late for a comeback win.

Miley was most recently at the center of a media firestorm when he started Game 5 on short rest but was removed after facing just one batter. Brewers manager Craig Counsell confirmed after his club’s loss that was simply an effort to gain an advantage in terms of how the Dodgers would possibly construct their lineup.

Miley started Game 6 on regular rest and allowed two runs over 4.1 innings. He again did not earn a decision. Miley was opposed by Hyun-Jin Ryu, who was hit hard early in one of his worst starts of the year.

With the NLCS reaching a winner-take-all Game 7, Walker Buehler and Jhoulys Chacín are slated to start. Both clubs are essentially taking an all-hands-on-deck approach to the game, which means Clayton Kershaw conceivably could pitch out of the bullpen.

Regardless of who emerges as champion of the NLCS, Game 1 of the World Series begins Tuesday at Fenway Park.
