The Los Angeles Dodgers announced 50,250 were in attendance for Fan Appreciation Day at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, which brought their home mark to 3,809,684 for the season. It marked the second-highest attendance for a single season in franchise history, and eighth-highest in National League history.

The only season in which fans attended more games at Dodger Stadium was in 2007 when they finished with a total of 3,857,036 despite going 82-80 that year.

Los Angeles has now reached the 3 million in attendance milestone in each of the last seven seasons and every year since 2000; 2011 is the only exception.

Unlike many of those past years, the Dodgers were actually not as good at home this year as they were on the road. Sunday’s win gave them a pedestrian 44-37 record at Dodger Stadium compared to 43-32 away from home with still six games to play to close out the year.

The Dodgers did play their last home game in impressive fashion, defeating the San Diego Padres, 14-0, to move to 87-69 overall on the year. They currently hold a 1.5-game lead over the Colorado Rockies and lowered their magic number to six to clinch the NL West for a sixth straight year.
