Dodgers Attendance At Dodger Stadium Surpasses 3 Million

With an announced 45,295 fans for Wednesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Dodgers attendance at Dodger Stadium for the 2024 season surpassed 3 million, marking a 11th time in the past 13 years the team has reached that threshold.

The only exceptions during that span came in 2020, when fans were not allowed to attend games, and due to limited capacity for a portion of the 2021 schedule.

The Dodgers’ home attendance this season is an MLB-leading 3,039,362. Their home attendance average of 48,243 is also the best in baseball.

The next-closest team is the Philadelphia Phillies, who entered play Thursday with 2,699,184 in total home attendance. The New York Yankees have the second-highest home attendance average with 41,970 fans per game.

Earlier this season, the Dodgers set the record for largest crowd to attend any MLB game in 2024 when they had an announced attendance of 54,070 for a July 24 matchup against the San Francisco Giants on Kiké Hernández bobblehead night.

The club does hold an advantage with the Dodger Stadium capacity being 56,000 — the second-largest in baseball. The RingCentral Coliseum has a 56,782 capacity, but the Oakland Athletics have struggled to consistently draw fans and are in the midst of relocating to Las Vegas.

Excluding the pandemic-impacted year when fans were not permitted in 2020, the Dodgers have led all teams in home attendance for 10 consecutive seasons.

Overall, the Dodgers have reached 3 million in home attendance during 35 seasons in franchise history.

Dodgers road attendance

The Dodgers are additionally averaging the highest road attendance this season 35,415. That has likely been aided by the team’s signing of Shohei Ohtani during the offseason.

At the end of July, the Dodgers helped the San Diego Padres set an attendance record at Petco Park for a two-game series with a total attendance of 94,556.
