The 2020 Major League Baseball season may be over, but that doesn’t mean the DodgerBlue.com staff is ready to stop celebrating the Los Angeles Dodgers’ championship run.

The latest episode of “DodgerHeads” featured hosts Jeff Spiegel and Daniel Starkand discussing the Dodgers’ comeback against the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series. They fell behind 3-1 in what was a real turning point for L.A. in the postseason.

Despite the addition of a Wild Card Series with the expanded postseason in 2020, the Dodgers still breezed through the first two rounds by sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers and San Diego Padres.

It was the NLCS that things got tricky for the Dodgers as the Braves won the first two games and three of the first four, putting L.A. in a 3-1 hole. The Dodgers did not quit though, taking things one pitch at a time to come back against an excellent Braves team.

Kiké Hernandez described that matchup as the first true test for the Dodgers in 2020. He also believes the team ultimately benefitted from the NLCS not having off days as there was nothing to slow the Dodgers’ momentum once they got rolling.

Best NLCS moments

A big part of the discussion between Spiegel and Starkand focused on key plays of the NLCS with seemingly every Dodgers player making their impact at some point.

The final three games were filled with spectacular moments, whether it be Mookie Betts making incredible defensive plays, Corey Seager hitting home runs at a record pace or Cody Bellinger smashing the game-winner in Game 7.

Perhaps the biggest moment of them all was Will Smith hitting a go-ahead three-run home run off Braves reliever Will Smith in Game 5, which landed on Spiegel’s and Starkand’s lists.

Next up will be a review of the World Series, where the Dodgers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in six games to clinch their first championship in 32 years.
