After weeks of insisting an agreement would be reached, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed manager Dave Roberts to a three-year contract extension in March that keeps him with the organization through the 2025 season.

This season is Roberts’ seventh at the helm with the Dodgers. The Dodgers recognizing his success and committing to him through 2025, shows how much he means to the franchise. Roberts has managed with overwhelming support for players and is never short while expressing his respect for the Dodgers organization.

Since becoming the manager prior to the 2016 season, Roberts has led the Dodgers to an MLB-best 574-343 record.

Roberts’ run of success has also given him a sense of confidence in the roster at his disposal. Roberts recently discussed his gratitude for the Dodgers and the trust president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman has in him, via SportsNet LA:

“You guys know how excited I am and what it means for me to put this uniform on every day and really respecting the Dodger tradition, the people that came before me and what it means. For ownership, the organization, Andrew in particular, to entrust me going forward, is everything. Without those guys, the players, the relationships I’ve built, you guys and the fans, that’s why I come in every day so happy. I’m just one of the caretakers for this organization. I hold that in high responsibility.”

Friedman and Roberts have developed a strong relationship over the years, and the two have navigated their way to five National League West titles, three NL pennants, and one World Series championship.

Roberts is on his way to a Hall of Fame career and some postseason managerial blunders aside, received a well-deserved contract extension.

Roberts predicts 2022 World Series title if Dodgers are healthy

Although the Dodgers lost Corey Seager, Max Scherzer, and longtime closer Kenley Jansen in free agency, they re-signed Clayton Kershaw and Chris Taylor, while making arguably the most surprising addition of the offseason in Freddie Freeman.

All the talent on the roster keeps lofty expectations in place, and rightfully so, but Roberts is ready to meet those head-on, as he predicted a 2022 World Series win for the Dodgers.
