Amed Rosario: Transition To Dodgers ‘Has Been Good’

The Los Angeles Dodgers received home runs from Mookie Betts, Amed Rosario, Miguel Rojas and Jason Heyward in a 10-1 victory that clinched a series win over the Oakland Athletics.

For Rosario, it was his first home run since joining the Dodgers in a trade with the Cleveland Guardians last week. The two-run blast capped off a four-run inning in the bottom of the second.

“I was obviously very happy,” Rosario said through an interpreter. “I’m very blessed to be able to do it. In that pitching sequence, I was on the attack and looking for something to do damage on. Luckily, I was able to do that.”

Despite being one of the newest players in the clubhouse, Rosario feels right at home with the Dodgers. “I think the transition has been good,” he said.

“When you’re surrounded by all these great player and superstars, it makes you want to come into work, do the job and add to what we’re doing.”

Rosario struggled at the plate with the Guardians this season, but has gotten off to a fast start in L.A. Through four games, he is 5-for-13 with a double, home run and three RBI. The 27-year-old is batting an overall .269/.310/.379 with 30 extra-base hits, 43 RBI and nine stolen bases in 98 games.

Amed Rosario comfortable at second base

Rosario exclusively played shortstop in Cleveland this season, but so far has split his time at the position and second base with the Dodgers. “It’s actually been a really transition,” he explained. “Playing the middle of the infield, being able to move over hasn’t been difficult at all.”

Rosario credited Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel and special assistant Chris Woodward for helping him get comfortable at second base. “I feel really good about everything,” Rosario said. “Obviously the confidence they’ve instilled in me has been really wonderful.”
