After Blowing Second Straight Game Against Dodgers, Diamondbacks’ Archie Bradley Deems It Time To ‘Get The Hell Out Of L.A.’

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks for the third straight day on Sunday afternoon, coming from behind to earn a 3-2 walk-off victory to take over sole possession of first place in the National League West.

For the second consecutive game, the Dodgers came back on a big hit from Matt Kemp against reliever Archie Bradley. On Sunday it was a walk-off two-run double off the center field wall with one out in the ninth inning.

It was the first and only pitch that Bradley threw in the game. Understandably frustrated, Bradley vocalized that, confidence moving forward, and his readiness to leave the city of Los Angeles after Kemp got the better of him for a second time, via FOX Sports Arizona:

“I would expect him to believe in me there and want me in that spot. It’s obviously not the way we wanted to start September, but there’s a lot of games left, there’s a lot of things left to be unplayed and done. This is a time for us where we really just have to take a step back and look at this series and move on. We have the Padres coming into town and every game from here on out counts. For everyone back home, don’t panic. We’re going to be fine. We have to wash our hands, shower up and get the hell out of L.A.”

The outlook moving forward for the Dodgers is much different than it was a week and a half ago when they sat 4.5 games behind the Diamondbacks for first place in the NL West.

The two clubs still have a big three-game series against each other at Chase Field later this month though. And the Dodgers play six more games against the Colorado Rockies as well, so the NL West is certainly still up for grabs with a month remaining in the regular season.
