2025 Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour: Emmet Sheehan, Ben Casparius & Shohei Ohtani Visit Pacific Palisades Fire Station

The fourth day of the 2025 Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour included Shohei Ohtani, Emmet Sheehan and Ben Casparius visiting the Pacific Palisades to show their support for first responders who recently battled wildfires that ravaged Southern California.

Also on Thursday, Freddie Freeman made his way to Brentwood Science Magnet School, and Tyler Glasnow, Bobby Miller and Tony Gonsolin surprised fans at Jack in the Box in Pasadena.

In the Pacific Palisades, Sheehan, Casparius and Ohtani signed autographs, took photographs and spoke with firefighters and paramedics at Fire Station 69. Included in the Dodgers’ stop was a tour of the station and also a trip in their fire engines to see areas that were damaged.

“It means everything,” Sheehan said. “This city is behind us, and we just want them to know we’re behind them too and we can come out here and support them. Even to just spend a couple hours, is really a special thing to be able to do.”

A $10,000 donation was also made by the Dodgers to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.

Ohtani addressed the firefighters in English to express his gratitude for their efforts.

“I want to just say thank you for your dedication and hard work,” he said. “We appreciate it.”

Earlier this month, Ohtani pledged $500,000 to help victims of the wildfires. Ohtani also dedicated his 2024 National League MVP Award to the city of Los Angeles and firefighters.

Mark Walter & Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation donation for LA Rises

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the creation of LA Rises, a recovery initiative to bring private sector leaders together in support of rebuilding the Southern California area.

Newsom selected Dodgers owners Mark Walter and Magic Johnson, in addition to Casey Wasserman, to lead recruiting efforts.

To start the efforts, Walter, the Mark Walter Family Foundation and Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation provided a commitment of up to $100 million.
