2025 Dodgers Arbitration Projections: Evan Phillips, Michael Kopech, Brusdar Graterol & More

The Los Angeles Dodgers went into the offseason with eight players eligible for arbitration in 2025, though the group has since been reduced after several moves.

In November, the Dodgers came to terms with Tony Gonsolin on a one-year, $5.4 million contract for the 2025 season. They also avoided arbitration with Dustin May by signing him to a one-year, $2.135 million contract.

Gavin Lux was among the arbitration-eligible players as well, but the Dodgers traded him to the Cincinnati Reds for prospect Mike Sirota and a competitive balance round pick in the 2025 MLB Draft.

The Dodgers still have to work out deals with Evan Phillips, Michael Kopech, Brusdar Graterol, Alex Vesia and Anthony Banda, who are all due to see an increase in salary for the 2025 season, via MLB Trade Rumors:

Evan Phillips (4.136): $6.2MM
Michael Kopech (5.041): $5.2MM
Brusdar Graterol (4.167): $2.7MM
Alex Vesia (4.078): $1.9MM
Anthony Banda (3.135): $1.1MM

Each of the aforementioned players has three or more years of Major League service time but less than six years, which makes them eligible for salary arbitration for the 2025 season.

Kopech is entering his final season of arbitration, while Graterol, Phillips and Vesia are going through the process for the second time. Banda is arbitration-eligible for the first time in his career.

Dodgers arbitration history

The Dodgers will continue to discuss a new contract with the aforementioned players through Thursday’s deadline.

If necessary, arbitration hearings will be held from Jan. 27-Feb. 14. After listening to arguments from both parties, a three-person panel selects the figure of either the player or team, but not one in between, as the salary for the upcoming season.

Teams can continue negotiating contract terms beyond the deadline, but Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman historically has operated under a file and trial approach. Exceptions have proven to be when signing players to a multi-year contract.

The Dodgers’ last arbitration hearings were with Pedro Baez and Joc Pederson in 2020. Baez won his case but the arbitration panel sided with the Dodgers against Pederson.
