With a 2-0 lead in the 2024 World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers now are at Yankee Stadium with a chance to return home as champions.
The Dodgers lineup has carried them throughout the postseason, and Teoscar Hernández has been a big part of that.
The veteran had a strong National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres before struggling in the NL Championship Series against the New York Mets.
Now in the World Series, Hernández has been highly productive, and he heads to a stadium that he’s already had some success in.
The Dodgers faced the Yankees in the Bronx during the early part of June, and in those three games, Hernández went 6-for-12 with two doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and three runs scored.
“I think it’s one of those stadiums that you see the ball well,” he said. “I see the ball well at Yankee Stadium. And before my last series in New York, it wasn’t that great. Obviously I hit a lot of homers but not a lot of hits. But that series was amazing.”
In 44 career games at Yankee Stadium, Hernández has nine home runs in 167 at-bats while hitting .258/.315/.479 with 24 RBI and 21 runs scored.
So far in the postseason, Hernández has hit .229/.345/.417 with three home runs, 10 RBI and eight runs scored. In the World Series, he’s gone 3-for-8 with a home run.

Hernández already has a World Series ring that he received from the 2017 Houston Astros due to appearing in one game for them that season. The 32-year-old is now hoping to win one with some more merit to it.
“It means a lot,” Hernández recently said of being in position to play in the Fall Classic. “I put a lot of work into the offseason, trying to get ready for whoever I would sign with. In this case I’m here right now.
“Put a lot of effort, put a lot of time trying to work the things that I didn’t do the way I wanted to do it last year, and just came here and trying to learn from the guys that already have success in the big league organization.
“Just trying to put myself in a good spot and trying to make my teammates better too. A lot of people don’t know, but I got a ring in 2017 with Houston Astros, but I didn’t get to play. One of my dreams is to go to the World Series and obviously win everything and be part of a winning team and be there and help a team win a championship.”
