The Los Angeles Dodgers are represented on the first 2022 MLB All-Star Game voting update by Mookie Betts and Trea Turner being the leaders at their respective positions among National League players.

Betts is pacing all NL outfielders and players with 1,446,050 votes thus far. He’s on pace to earn a sixth career All-Star Game selection, each of which would be consecutive (excluding when the event was not held in 2020).

Though, the All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium would potentially be the first Betts has appeared in as a member of the Dodgers. He opted out of the Midsummer Classic at Coors Field last season in favor of rest and recovery from nagging injuries.

Betts currently is on the 10-day injured list after sustaining a rib fracture as a result of colliding with Cody Bellinger. The 2018 American League MVP hopes to make a return in two weeks or so.

Betts got off to a slow start this season but then put together a historic stretch in May that saw him tie or break several Dodgers franchise records. However, upon having a four-game hitting streak snapped June 5, he went on a 3-for-39 skid leading up to the IL stint.

Turner has garnered 811,839 votes and is on track for a second career All-Star Game, with his first selection coming last year. Like with Betts, this would mark Turner’s first Midsummer Classic appearance as a member of the Dodgers.

Turner is currently in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak, batting .327 during that span. He’s now produced four different hitting streaks of at least 12 games since being traded to the Dodgers at the 2021 deadline.

Turner additionally has hit safely in 57 of 65 games this season and been in the Dodgers lineup for each contest.

Only position players are on the All-Star Game ballot, but Dodgers pitchers Tyler Anderson and Tony Gonsolin figure to be selected as well once final rosters are set.

Phase 1 of All-Star Game voting is open until 11 a.m. PT on June 30. During this period, fans can complete a ballot up to five times per every 24-hour period. Voting is being held exclusively at MLB.com, all 30 team websites and through the MLB app.

The top two vote-getters at every position, including designated hitter, and the top six outfielders in each league will be revealed at 2 p.m. on June 30 during a live MLB Network special.

The Toronto Blue Jays lead all teams with four players appearing in first place at their respective positions on the first update. The New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge leads all players with 1,512,368 votes.
