Phase 2 of 2022 MLB All-Star Game voting opened Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. PT. Fans can complete a ballot once per every 24 hours during the current period, which closes at 11 a.m. on Friday. Los Angeles Dodgers teammates Mookie Betts and Trea Turner advanced as All-Star Game finalists.

With the exception of outfield for the National League and American League, two finalists per position advanced in voting for the All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium.

Betts led all National League players in two All-Star Game voting updates but couldn’t hold off a late push from the Atlanta Braves’ Ronald Acuña Jr. Betts closed Phase 1 with 3,479,480 votes to 3,503,188 for Acuña.

As the leading vote-getter in the National League, Acuña secured a starting spot in the lineup. The New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge is a guaranteed starter in the American League lineup.

This year marked the first time since two-phase balloting began in 2019 that the leading vote-getter in each league during Phase 1 earned an automatic All-Star Game start to bypass the second phase. Voting totals from Phase 1 do not carry over.

Pitchers and reserves for both All-Star teams will be determined by “Player Ballot” choices and selections made by the commissioner’s office. All-Star Game starters will be revealed on Friday, and starters for the 92nd Midsummer Classic will be announced during a Selection Show on July 10.
